Keurig Cuts the K-Mini to $60 on Its Own Site, Down From $100

Keurig is selling the K-Mini for $60 on its own site, down from $100, Yahoo Shopping reported on Oct. 30. That’s about $10 under the Walmart price Yahoo flagged a day earlier. Yahoo says the deal is on the warm stone color, with other colors $20 off.

There’s also a cheaper route if you already buy pods regularly: per Yahoo, signing up for a year of Keurig’s automatic pod deliveries drops the brewer to $30, plus the cost of those shipments. When we looked at Keurig.com on Oct. 31, the K-Mini page showed a $75 brewer-plus-four-boxes kit rather than a standalone sale price, so treat the $60 as Yahoo’s figure and check before you buy.

The K-Mini is Keurig’s smallest brewer. There’s no reservoir: you pour in water for each cup, add a pod and press start. Yahoo timed it at a little over a minute to heat and just under a minute to brew, and pitches it as handy for a crowded holiday kitchen where guests make their own cups one after another.

Our take: $60 is a good price for a K-Mini, but read the subscription fine print before taking the $30 option, since a year of pods costs far more than the $30 you save. If you’d rather not be tied to Keurig’s pods at all, our reusable K-Cup picks work in it, and our needle-cleaning guide covers the K-Mini.
