Walmart Drops the Keurig K-Mini to $69.49, Down From $90
Walmart has the Keurig K-Mini down to $69.49 from $90, Yahoo Shopping reported on Oct. 29. Yahoo called it the best online price it was seeing and said it’s a few dollars under Amazon. We couldn’t check the price on Walmart’s site ourselves, so treat it as Yahoo’s figure and confirm before you buy.
The K-Mini is Keurig’s smallest brewer: no reservoir, so you pour in fresh water for each cup, drop in a pod and press brew. Yahoo says the whole cycle takes about two minutes. The listing Yahoo linked is the black model.
It’s a good fit for a dorm, an office desk or a small kitchen where one or two people want a cup at a time. It’s a poor fit for a household that brews several cups back to back, since you’ll be refilling it every time. Yahoo also suggests a reusable My K-Cup if you’d rather skip disposable pods, which we’d second.
Our take: about $70 is a fair price for a K-Mini, though not a rare one, and holiday sales may match it. If you buy one, keep it running well with our guide to cleaning Keurig needles, which covers the K-Mini, and look at our reusable K-Cup picks to cut the pod bill.
