Keurig’s Tiniest Brewer Is About $50 Ahead of Prime Big Deal Days

Amazon’s October Prime Big Deal Days doesn’t start until October 6, but the Keurig K-Mini Mate is already marked down, the New York Post notes: about $50, down from a list price of $89.99. All four colors are on sale: Red Rocks, Black, Glamping Green and Pink Sands.

The K-Mini Mate is about as small as a Keurig gets, around 4 inches wide, and it’ll fit a travel mug up to 7.25 inches tall. The trade-off is the reservoir: it holds 12 oz, which is one cup. You add water every time you brew. For a dorm, an office desk or a small apartment, that’s fine. For a household of coffee drinkers, it gets old fast.

Two things before you add it to the cart. First, compare prices: when we looked at Keurig.com on September 27 it was $59.99 there, and Keurig’s own site sometimes bundles brewers with pods if you sign up for pod delivery. Second, the Mini family has a single entrance needle, and it’s the one repair techs say clogs most often. It’s an easy fix with a paper clip (here’s how), but the habit that prevents it is simple: take the pod out when you’re done.
