Ninja’s Pods and Grounds Brewer Is Back to $100 at Amazon
Ninja’s Pods and Grounds coffee maker with the built-in frother is back to $99.99 at Amazon, down from $129.99, The Inventory reported on Nov. 1. The deal is on the sage green version, model PB051SG. It’s the same price Gizmodo flagged at the end of September, so $100 is starting to look like this machine’s regular sale price.
The pitch hasn’t changed. It brews K-Cups when you want speed and has a separate basket for ground coffee when you’d rather use your own bag, and the fold-out frother heats and froths milk for latte-style drinks. The Inventory says it’s built for one or two people brewing daily, not a busy office.
Owner ratings are solid, per the outlet: 4.7 out of 5 from more than 1,100 reviews at Best Buy, 4.5 from 278 at Walmart and 4.2 from 423 at Lowe’s. The Inventory also notes the reviews aren’t all glowing and mentions noise and occasional quirks as tradeoffs, so don’t expect a flawless machine.
We couldn’t check Amazon’s price ourselves, so treat $99.99 as The Inventory’s figure from Nov. 1.
Our take: if you’ve been waiting on this one, $100 is a good price, though Black Friday may match it rather than beat it. Using the grounds basket on weekdays is where the savings add up; our cost-per-cup breakdown shows the difference. Buying it as a gift? It fits our gifts for Keurig owners list for anyone who also brews grounds.
